Wow! Like I said last week it has really been hot down here in the mid-south. My printing wax is melting into a blob. Next week we will look at some sculpture and talk about reoccurring motifs in indigenous American art. I am just a short distance from Poverty Point La. We will look at some bird effigy and talk about the “Sleeping Bird” motif. I hope You will join me then. Here are the new prints of the week.
A collection of indigenous American, ( American Indian) artifacts. These stones bear engraving and detailed renderings of many individuals. There are also sculptured stones in the collection. All work is in excess of 250 years old and many examples are probably better than 3500 years old.

Hello, Larry McCarty here. I have had to take some time off for medical leave. The heat of the summer is difficult! I have a condition that is making it almost impossible to print and photograph. I will return in the first week of August. We will at that time begin to view miniature sculptures as well as printmaking. There is a world of art work still left to be seen! I hope that You will join me here in August. Thank You for watching.
