I am taking some much needed vacation time, no text this week! I'll be back in August. Here are the regular prints of the week.

Vacation time has arrived. Thankfully, I will be out of place for awhile. I intend to continue to post images, but there will be little or no text. I hope that you have enjoyed this blog so far, there will be much more to show when I return to this work. I intend to change the template that I have been using so that I can include photographic illustrations as well as the graphic prints I would like to take this opportunity to Thank both my readers and Google as well for giving me this place and space. I should be back at my desk by the first week of August.

Subject for Contemplation...

If there was one delight that the artist that created The Collection of Indigenous American Art relished, it was desire to integrate multiple images into a single composition. Actually they loved ambiguity. An art work was a subject for contemplation at length! Often several characters interact, literally gesturing before the observer. Each time that the viewers eyes move another character or gesture appears. If the work is rotated, once again a new set of characters is very likely to become visible in any position selected.

Such control over the pictorial window did not develop by chance, in fact the amazing consistency from one artist work to another suggest that there were no doubt rigid academic organizations, who's job it was to jury and judge the selected artist and their work.

When I began posting The Collection of Indigenous American Art blog last October, it was my first attempt at such an endeavor. It has been a learning process! While I am enjoying the study, I often find myself woefully inadequate. I always tell myself that the delivery of the art works of the week, the images are the important thing. The rare opportunity to view these unprinted graphics is an experience that I can share with the World Community. The list of countries on my statistics page continues to grow. This week I would like to welcome viewers in Bangladesh to the audience. I hope that you find this post interesting.
